ASHES: 'WONDERFUL WORLD'
Wonderful World, by the company Ashes, is a contemporary circus show that was born from the union of three Canarian artists that studied at renowned schools within the international contemporary circus scene, such as Doch and Esac. Their work as a group proposes comicalness, drama, humor, risks and tenderness, some feelings which will be mixed up without any filter. Lights and music will play a very important role in helping the performers to change from one situation to another just like when one changes channels on television.
What happens if the constant change is the process itself? This is a show where situations stand out because of their nature. Three characters will get along an undefined and ever-changing world whose changes will inevitably alter the course of their emotions. A show that, from absurdity, brings up a call to the spectators’ conscience.
The Company
Aimé Morales, Pablo de Rada and Fernando Orozco came back to Gran Canaria and joined together in order to promote contemporary circus through San Feluko’s project, in a space for training and creation located in San Felipe (Santa María de Guía). From then on, they have created seven shows. Committed to a way of learning in which improvisation and the exploration of new languages are crucial, they bank on generating excitement and transmitting sensitivity in their shows through corporal control and expression.
