CÍA. TRESPERTÉ: 'OOPART'

The crowd waits anxiously to see the surprise the mechanical-temporal gadget placed before their eyes will provide them with. A strange crew, newly arrived from a journey through time, lands and gives us the great chance of travelling like them, though, of course, for a small fee. For that purpose, they will show off their best charms and their amazing circus numbers. But today is not any day in their routine as street vendors. Occasionally, manipulating time has its consequences.

Oopart has been the most awarded show in the 2016 PACA Prizes, where it won the Best Street Show, the Best Stage Design, the Best Costume Award and the Best Lightning Prizes. Furthermore, in 2017, Iván Monje received the FETEN award for Best Original Music for his work in this show. In less than two years, they have given over a hundred performances at the most important festivals in Spain and Europe.

The Company

Working since 2011, Tresperté has established itself as one of the most important circus companies in the Spanish contemporary circus scene with only two shows: Aquí Sobra Uno (2013) and Oopart (2016). It was created during its members’ training program at the International School of Theatre and Circus Arts CAU in Granada, where performers Paco, Ángelo and Claudia first met and decided to work together as an acrobatics trio. Later, Luis Ayuso joined as a clown and a technician. It was at that point when they began to develop their first show.
