LA TAL: 'THE INCREDIBLE BOX'
When The Incredible Box premiered over 150 years ago, it was a success. But, what would happen if the same show was repeated for decades and decades? The Incredible Box, the greatest show of all time would become… the most bizarre, absurd, ridiculous and extravagant show of all time. Its director ―the founder’s great-grandson― and two eccentric assistants shall try to keep its greatness, but that won’t stop them from being three characters walking on thin ice. Some parts of the original costumes, stage design and spirit may endure, but the current singers lose their voices, the acrobats lose their reflections, the actors their memories…
The show won several awards for the best street show at Freiburg and Heppenheim (Germany). The Incredible Box has also participated in FETA (Poland), Waves Fest (Denmark), FIET (Mallorca), Daigogei Shizuoka (Japan) and Goteborg (Sweden), among others.
The Company
La Tal was founded in 1986. Since then, they have successfully performed at multiple festivals all over the world. Their theatrical concept, visual perception and interpretive technique have evolved from the classic circus clown figure into the creation of an entire universe of their own, in which the images and the stories, with the aid of sporadic words, give their shows a unique personality. In their last performances they have revisited in a profound way the world of the clown without abandoning their striking aesthetic.
